Walt’s Place:
Built on Love, Inspired by Walt
At Walt’s Place, our mission is simple: provide high-quality, compassionate care in a home where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can thrive—while giving peace of mind to the families who love them.
This journey began with one very special man: Uncle Walter.
Walter was full of heart—kind, generous, and always thinking of others. Each year, he remembered every niece and nephew's birthday with a handwritten card and a Baskin-Robbins gift certificate, proudly funded through his work at a factory. Despite facing many challenges in life, he remained joyful and deeply connected to his family.
Throughout much of his adult life, Walter struggled to find housing that met his needs. He often lived in boarding homes that lacked structure or proper support. His sister—our Aunt—carried the burden of coordinating his care, answering multiple daily calls, and constantly being on alert in case he needed something.
Later in life, Walter moved into a home that offered thoughtful, individualized care. It was life-changing—not just for him, but for our Aunt as well. With caregivers who respected him, followed a care plan, and treated him like family, both of their lives improved dramatically. For the first time, our Aunt could breathe easy knowing Walter was safe, supported, and loved.
That transformation is the foundation of Walt’s Place.
When my husband, Brian, chose to leave his day job, we knew this was our opportunity to create something bigger. A home that honors Walter’s legacy. A home that gives other families what our Aunt finally received—relief, trust, and hope.
At Walt’s Place, we offer more than a safe, warm home. We offer dignity, personalized care, and a community where everyone matters.
